Residential Estate and Apartment Management

The management of long leasehold and certain types of freehold residential property can be a complex business requiring a full understanding of management procedures, accountancy procedures and current statutory and legislation requirements, as well as an understanding of buildings, their maintenance and insurance requirements, a familiarisation with current Health & Safety legislation and where relevant, good people management skills and compliance with employment legislation.

Often the management of collective properties (leasehold and freehold flats, and other freehold developments) falls to volunteer residents who are prepared to give up their time to deal with the management of the development and any problems that may arise. Whilst this may work for some developments in the short term, it is rarely a satisfactory solution for the long term due to the very nature of voluntary work – potential conflicts between residents, key volunteers move on etc.
