Park Court Estate was designed by Sir Frederick Gibbard and built in 1936. It is of significant architectural interest being one of the few developments south of the river by this noted architect and landscape architect.

There are nine houses (seven blocks) on the estate which would be listed if it were not for the addition of the top storey in the 1980's. Particular features of note include the round windows at the rear and the banisters in the common areas, which give a vaguely nautical feel and the beautiful Canadian oak flooring. The individual houses are named after famous British racecourses with the exception of Cannon, Lucille and Nicolas. Cannon was the surname of the builder and Lucille was his daughter and Nicolas his son in law.

We have lived at Park Court for 17 years and leaving is rather bittersweet. Park court is a great place to live, a quiet location surrounded by mature trees and fabulous grounds. It is situated right next door to the famous Crystal Palace Park which over the years has under gone refurbishment with a new cafe due to open later this year. Crystal palace itself has also undergone many changes and now features many great pubs and restaurants and also its very own Everyman Cinema. Its transport links are brilliant as it is served by Penge West station (the closest at 5 mins walk), Penge East Sydenham and Crystal Palace stations, these all have main line trains plus the overground. It also has great bus routes with the 176 stopping very near the flat which takes you to the heart of the West End, Tottenham Court Road. We have a great local pub called the Bridge House which boasts it own theatre (the Christmas show is a must) which is is also 5 minutes walk. Penge High Street has all the convenience stores you require including Sainsburys, Lidl and many independent food stores and cafes. You are also only a 15 minute bus ride away from the lovely Lordship Lane in East Dulwich and Peckham with all its trendy bars and restaurants.
